Nunnley-Bowden House

The Nunnley-Bowden House was built around 1850 in Gordon, Houston County, for land speculator Lewis Bowden. Bowden acquired the property from Rachel Page, who had been awarded the right to buy land in the county as part of the pension she received for her husband's service and death in the Second Creek War. The house was one of several historic properties documented by the Historic American Buildings Survey federal program in the 1930s. It was never completed and was demolished in 1965.
