Mobile native Alexis Herman (1947- ) served as U.S. Secretary of Labor from 1997-2001 in the administration of Pres. Bill Clinton. Since leaving office, she has served in executive positions with Coca-Cola and Toyota and has been involved with advocacy organizations such as the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund and the National Urban League.
