Paul M. Grist

Paul Malone Grist (1898-1982) was a longtime resident of Selma, Dallas County, who served as general secretary of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) for 45 years. He also organized some of the first basketball camps in the South, coaching future Auburn football coach Ralph "Shug" Jordan as a teenager. The YMCA in Selma bears his name, as does Paul M. Grist State Park in Valley Grande, Dallas County.
