Alexander Coffee

Alexander Coffee (1821-1901) was a notable figure in the early development of Florence, Lauderdale County. His father was Gen. John Coffee, one of the architects of the federal victory in the Creek War of 1813-14. Alexander was part owner of a cotton mill among other businesses and served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War.
