Nodosaur Fossils

On display at the McWane Science Center in Birmingham, these parts of a nodosaur skull were discovered in Lowndes County in the 1960s. Because this individual was so young, the skull bones had yet to fuse together. Seen here are the maxilla, or upper jaw (top), the basicranium, or back part of the skull (right), and dentary, or lower jaw (bottom).
