This fossil inoceramid valve was found in the Mooreville Formation at Jones Dam on the Alabama River, Lowndes County. Inoceramids were large clams found in many parts of the world during the Cretaceous Period. They were large animals, sometimes reaching up to one meter, or three feet, across.
