Actress Bette Davis is shown here in a still from William Wyler's 1941 film version of The Little Foxes, the award-winning play written by Lillian Hellman. Davis was nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of Regina Giddens, a character based on Hellman's grandmother, Sophie Marx Newhouse, of Demopolis.
