Applicants fill out paperwork for employment with the Alabama Army Ammunition Plant near Childersburg, Talladega County, at an employment office in Sylacauga in May 1941. The plant, which was operated by the DuPont company, produced a variety of munitions, in addition to heavy water for the Manhattan Project.
