The Jones Archaeological Museum at
Moundville Archaeological Park
in
Hale County
was built in 1939 as a project of the
Civilian Conservation Corps
to preserve and display the history of Native American artifacts, such as the nearby Moundville burial mounds. The museum is now part of
University of Alabama
Museums.
