Robert Hugh Daniel (1906-1983) was a businessman and philanthropist who co-founded the Daniel Construction Company (now the Fluor Corporation) in the 1930s and subsequently expanded into banking and real estate. He was instrumental in the founding of Central Bank of the South, now BBVA Compass Bank, headquartered in Birmingham, Jefferson County.
