Zora Neale Hurston, 1937

Zora Neale Hurston poses at the New York Times Book Fair in New York City in 1937. Hurston was born in Notasulga, Alabama, and became an acclaimed writer and poet. She was also a contributor to the African American cultural revival known as the "Harlem Renaissance" for the New York neighborhood that attracted African Americans, many of whom came from the South during the Great Migration.
