Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library

The Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library in Montgomery is named for civil rights advocate and librarian Juliette Hampton Morgan. She published a letter in the Montgomery Advertiser criticizing segregation in the city, something few white residents were willing to do, and received threats and was later forced to resign from her job. She took her own life on July 15, 1957.
