Although Alabama does not immediately come to mind when the subject of wine arises, the state is home to a number of wineries, including Ozan Winery and Vineyard in Calera, Shelby County. The site is associated with the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum and is one end of the historic train route operated by the museum.
