Charles Gomillion
Longtime Tuskegee University professor Charles Gomillion was best known for his civil rights campaign against gerrymandering in Tuskegee that disenfranchised the city's black voters. The case was argued before the U.S. Supreme Court, and eventually an Alabama district court overturned the city's actions.
