Troy University

Troy State College (now Troy University) expanded in Alabama in the 1950s to include centers at military bases near Dothan and Montgomery, and a branch was established at Phenix City in 1975. The school's name was changed to Troy State University in December 1967, and it dropped "State" in August 2005 to become Troy University.
