Western Kingbird

While more common in the western states, the Western Kingbird (Tyrannus verticalis) can be spotted up and down the East Coast. They often nest in human-made structures such as fence posts and telephone poles. They are among the birds that have been spotted along the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail.
