Parks E. Ball House

The Parks E. Ball House in Aliceville in Pickens County, is a Federal-style mansion built around 1830 and is the only brick dwelling still standing in the county from the pre-Civil War period. It was constructed by Parks E. Ball, who migrated to Alabama from South Carolina around 1826 to establish a cotton plantation. When built, it was typical of the era, with a long central hall on each floor and rooms at either side, but the structure has been significantly modified and expanded since that time, including the addition of the colonnade. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
