167th Infantry Regiment Coat of Arms

The coat of arms for the 167th Alabama Infantry Division features symbols related to the unit's service in wars since its creation. The blue stars symbolize the battles in which the regiment participated in the Civil War. The rainbow with fleur-de-lis refer to the division's service with the larger 42nd Infantry, known as the Rainbow Division for its broad scope, in France during World War I, as is the red cross for the division's participation in the victory over the Germans at La Croix Rouge Farm in July 1918. And the Latin motto at the bottom translates as "we shall drive forward."
