John F. Duggar

John F. Duggar, director of the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station at what is now Auburn University, founded the Old Rotation Cotton Experiment in 1896. The test fields have been under continuous study since their creation and have yielded much important data about soil fertility, cotton cultivation, and other row crops. He stands here in a field of vetch, a popular cover crop.
