U.S. Army Aviation Museum

The U.S. Army Aviation Museum is located at the Fort Novosel (formerly Fort Rucker) military base just north of Daleville, Dale County. The base is home to the Aviation Branch of the U.S. Army, and the 80,000-square-foot museum holds an extensive collection of helicopters and fixed-winged aircraft, including examples of planes used in World War I. Approximately 50 aircraft, from the museum’s collection of more than 160, are on display at any given time. The museum also houses the Army Aviation Hall of Fame and has a memorial room listing the names of more than 4,000 Army Aviation soldiers killed in Vietnam.
