Thomas Kilby Bill Signing

In February 1919, Alabama Gov. Thomas E. Kilby signed a bill authorizing the construction of the Alabama War Memorial Building, home to the Alabama Department of Archives and History. At that time, it was also home to the Alabama Department of Education.
