Rufus W. Cobb

Rufus W. Cobb (1829-1913) was the 25th governor of Alabama (1878-1882). A Bourbon Democrat, he supported the interests of railroad and mining companies and approved funding for the founding of Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute (now Tuskegee University). Before his governorship, Cobb served as a state legislator.
