Choctaw National Wildlife Refuge

The Choctaw National Wildlife Refuge occupies approximately 4,200 acres in southwest Alabama just east of Gilbertown, Choctaw County. Established in 1964, the refuge provides habitat for wood ducks, with more than 400 nest boxes established, and a wintering area for waterfowl.
