Kymulga Grist Mill

The historic Kymulga Grist Mill is located in the Kymulga Grist Mill, Park, and Covered Bridge historic park on Talladega Creek near Childersburg, Talladega County. The site is unique in the state because it allows visitors to experience such structures, including an original wooden dam, in close proximity to one another. Construction on the three-story mill started in 1864. It survived Union raids that destroyed other industrial buildings in central Alabama during the Civil War. The complex is owned by the City of Childersburg and managed by the Childersburg Heritage Committee and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
