Clay County Courthouse

The Clay County Courthouse in Ashland was built in 1906 in the Classical Revival architectural style. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. It was designed by Anniston architect Charles Carlton and houses the Hugo Black Museum honoring Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black, who was born in the community of Harlan.
