Mobile Carnival Museum

The William and Emily Hearin Mobile Carnival Museum, in Mobile, Mobile County, celebrates the Mardi Gras heritage of the city. Although New Orleans, Louisiana, is better known for its celebration, Mobile was the first city to host a Mardi Gras festival in what is now the United States during the French Colonial period. The museum is named for the long-time festival leaders who founded it.
