The Alabama Theatre for the Performing Arts in downtown Birmingham, Jefferson County, hosts more than 300 events per year, including film showings, parties, and theater and music performances. The theater was built in 1927 by Paramount-Publix Theatres and today is owned and operated by Birmingham Landmarks Inc.
