Hank Williams in Jail

Hank Williams leaves jail in Alexander City, Tallapoosa County, in 1952. By that time, alcoholism and drug abuse had taken a toll on his health and his personal and professional lives. Hank and Audrey Williams divorced, the Grand Ole Opry fired him for absenteeism, and he was developing heart problems that would contribute to his death in on New Year's Day in 1953.
