Gordonville is located in Alabama's Black Belt region in western Lowndes County in the south-central part of the state. It has a mayor/city council form of government.
History

According to 2016 Census estimates, Gordonville recorded a population of 326. Of that number, 98.8 percent of respondents identified themselves as African American and 1.2 percent as white. The town's median household income was $18,798, and the per capita income was $18,565.

Transportation
County Highway 17/12 runs through town going east-west, but exits town going southeast. Beechwood Airport is located about a mile south of town.

The Crosby Water System (ca. 1955) is listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage.
